Bigger, Better, Brighter Marketing in Time for Summer
June 2, 2017 | By Jill Marber
Summer marketing is different. The sun is out, people are ready to relax, and schedules become a bit less hectic. With that in mind, your marketing tactics should change too. If you are looking for ways to up your marketing game this summer, setting some of these goals for the warmer months can open doors to expanding both your knowledge base and customer base before fall.
Make Time for Writing
More free time? Write. Write. Write. The more you write about your business, and your passion for it, the more you enhance your skills and the depth of your own knowledge. The information you create can be vital to your marketing team, even if it is just your thoughts on a page, because it will help them understand your perspective. You may not share or publish everything, and that is ok, but some of your work can be transferred to blogs, social media, or anything that speaks to your client base. The only way to be a better writer is to practice it.
Read New Blogs
Keeping informed on the industry is one of the best ways to understand it. Marketing is changing all the time. What is awesome this year may not be so impressive next year. If you are reading the same blogs all of the time, you lose out on a fresh perspective. Find some new blogs to follow and expand your horizons a little bit.
Think About Your Message
If your message is not connecting with potential clients, then you are in trouble. How has your message done so far in 2017? Identify why someone may need your product or service and speak to them. If your product is seasonal, or you can capitalize on the season in some way, talk about it. Use that for a campaign. Use their language. If you are providing a service everyone could benefit from this summer, work it.
Revamp Your Social Media
Whether is it Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or LinkedIn, your social media probably needs some love. As social media has been around for a while now, businesses realize that not every company needs to be on every platform. But, for those sites that connect with your target, you need to be on top of it. Post at least once a week.
Now sit back, relax, and enjoy your warm summer days.
