Last week, Chevy ran a digital video advertisement in their May print advertisements. Yes, you read that correctly. A video in print. How, you may ask? Certain issues of Esquire and Popular Mechanics included a video player embedded inside the print page, which played one of three digital films. In 2009, CBS ran a similar campaign by using Americhip technology to embed a video of its fall lineup in Entertainment Weekly.
I realize the irony of the title of this piece. How helpful can a blog about the merits of blogging really be? Everyone says you should blog these days, but why? For SEO? Customer interaction? Expert status? If you want your company to stand out….yes, yes and yes. Who should blog for you? Well, most likely someone who is a decent writer and is motivated. I’m not talking about Sally who planned her wedding and now thinks she is the authority on wedding blogging. I’m talking about experts…the people who really know, or will get to know, your business. If you or your team are too busy (which is often the case), outsource your blogging to a company that is used to writing in a conversational, yet informative, form (such as Inward Solutions, just for an example). I promise it will be worth the time and/or money to have a regular, consistent blog that readers can look forward to and not frustratingly wait for.
